A wing should be a smooth lifting surface, like a glider's.

Piper didn't make them that way, because apparently the production department was not up to demanding the necessary close tolerances and the designers did not care enough.
It's a shame, because the potential of the laminar flow section, which Piper used, was never achieved.

But it is possible to do something about it, and we do. We offer wing smoothing parts and instructions that will convert your Piper's wing to the right specification to permit laminar flow over the optimum area.

The results can be spectacular, and they can be disappointing. Certain planes respond better than others, and certain techniques are better than others. We have seen big variances in results, from zero to twenty knots. We think we are beginning to understand some of the variables.

Call us, tell us and tell us about your plane, and maybe we can help you make the right decision.
